ABOUT PADDOCK WOOD

Paddock Wood is a small town in the borough of Tunbridge Wells with a population of approx. 8160 (2021 Census). Paddock Wood was developed as a settlement during the 2nd half of the 19th century as a result of the local hop industry. The town continues to be a hub for the country’s hop growing industry as well as fruit and vegetable distribution.

Kent County Council has given notice that Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood, will be closed to through traffic on 22nd May 2023 for up to 7 days. The road will be closed outside the Kent Fire Brigade Fire Station.Alternative route is via B2017 Badsell Road, A228 Maidstone Road and reverse.This closure is necessary to enable water mains repairs to be carried out by South East Water.The latest information can be found on one.network/uk/kent This has been updated today to show the closure extended to 31st May. ...
