PE27 CHAIRMANS UPDATE

Planning officers and the Chair of Estates met with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council (TWBC) planning officers to discuss the future of sports in Paddock Wood. TWBC extended the invitation to local sports teams, with representatives from EPPWFRC and the Athletics Club attending. The discussion covered the current state of the teams and their plans for future growth.

The Town Council will continue to refer TWBC to the Paddock Wood Neighbourhood Plan, which sets out the town’s aspirations for sports development.

It was also noted that the inspector’s response to the Local Plan stated that the proposed swimming pool should be described with more certainty than merely as a possibility. However, this change has not yet been made. This issue will be raised with TWBC at the next meeting, scheduled for Friday, 25th July.

PE28   DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will take place at 7.45pm on Monday 4th August 2025 in the Day Centre, Commercial Road, Paddock Wood.
