CARRIED unanimously |
24/00366/TPO | 19 Eldon Way Paddock Wood Tonbridge Kent TN12 6BE | Trees: LONDON PLANE (T1) – Remove | Cllr Williams proposed,
Cllr D Kent seconded:
OBJECTION, On the grounds that the specimen is protected by a Tree Protection Order. Also being a mature specimen of London Plane in a flood area where there is a lack of trees. Photos in the application show no evidence of the listed issues. What they do show is that the tree has been severely cut back already. PWTC recommend advice is obtained by the Tree Officer on how to correctly pollard a tree with a TPO.

Demolition of garage and dwelling (former storage sheds) and change of use of land to extend the caravan park for the siting of 10 no. caravans accommodated by persons over the age of 50 (part-retrospective) | Cllr Williams proposed,
Cllr A Mackie seconded:
OBJECTION. No planning permissions in place for a substantial number of dwellings already in place, at this address. An unclear plan of the purpose of this site. This site was always used and provided as a gypsy site, however the current planning application suggests standard residential options for 50+ so it is unclear on who they will be available for. There is no information regarding the sewage management plan. The site is in Flood Zone 3 which is a concern. The NPPF states ‘Inappropriate development in areas at risk of flooding should be avoided by directing development away from areas at highest risk (whether existing or future). Where development is necessary in such areas, the development should be made safe for its lifetime without increasing flood risk elsewhere’. PWTC question if the applicants building prior to any planning permission being granted, was appropriate.
