Advertising Policy – Version 1.1
Purpose
This policy outlines the conditions under which advertising may be displayed on property owned by Paddock Wood Town Council. Its aim is to ensure that all advertising is appropriate, community-focused, and respectful of public spaces.
Policy Guidelines
Permission Requirement
Advertising on Town Council property is only permitted with prior written consent from Paddock Wood Town Council. Requests should be sent to the Town Clerk – clerk@paddockwood-tc.gov.uk
Note: Permission is not granted for advertising that promotes private/commercial businesses or personal interests.
Community Relevance
All advertising must be:
– Relevant to the local community, or
– In support of events held within or for the benefit of Paddock Wood.
Display Duration
– Advertisements may be displayed for a maximum of 21 days.
– All materials must be removed within 2 days following the conclusion of the advertised event.
Content Restrictions
– No obscene, offensive, or inappropriate language or imagery is permitted.
Approved Locations
Advertising may only be placed:
– On Town Council noticeboards, or
– On fences owned by the Town Council, as specified in written permission.
Space Availability
– Use of Town Council noticeboards is subject to available space.
– Council notices take priority over all other advertising.
Political Advertising
Political advertisements are strictly prohibited.
Enforcement
– Any advertising displayed without written permission will be removed by the Council.
– Consent from the Town Council does not imply endorsement of the advertised services or events.
