Andrew Mackie

East Ward

I am a retired business systems analyst and moved to the town in 2010, soon getting involved in local groups.

I have been involved with the Community Centre Committee project since its inception and continue as a volunteer and at the CC/Town Council Liaison Committee there to try to ensure its success. This is a vital facility for the Town as it doubles in size!

Sat on the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee for the development of this plan for many years. This important document has now recently passed the referendum, so it is now a main element of Local Planning Policy.

As a Councillor I sit on the Estates Committee and the Planning and Environment Committee. Until early 2023, I chaired the Highways Improvement Plan Working Group and of which I remain a member.

Member of the Patient Participation Group (PPG) at Woodlands Medical Centre for many years and   also attend the PPG Chairs Group, which is the liaison with the rest of the NHS in Kent.

I usually get involved in marshalling for the Remembrance Day Parade, litter picking and other local events. I was an organiser for the Queens Jubilee event at Putlands.
