15th September 2020 was the 80th Anniversary of the hardest and defying day of The  Battle of Britain .

This was the day that Flt Fritz Klotz lost his life jumping from his stricken ME 109 E4 aircraft after being attacked over Paddock Wood by a Spitfire from 41 Squadron of a Hornchurch.

The unearthed crash site is currently being covered by what will be a   redesigned road  junction at Badsell Road and Maidstone Road and we understand their is nothing planned to remember the loss of  Fritz Klotz.

I was fortunate to  watch today’s event from Chantler’s Hill at the exact spot were 80 years ago the crash was witnessed by John Haffenden’s Uncle and Capt John Brunt VC as they walked along Chantler’s Hill.
