Paddock Wood Community Centre Manager

Salary approx. £30,000 per annum

Paddock Wood Town Council (PWTC) is recruiting to an exciting new role of Community Centre Manager for the new Paddock Wood Community Centre due to open early in 2023. The Centre will provide a large 300 seater hall, divisible into three smaller rooms and a small meeting room, with café area.  There is a nursery attached to the Centre but this will be under separate management. The role offers the successful applicant the opportunity to help shape the services provided at the new Community Centre.

The successful applicant will have experience of managing a public facing facility or service, including networking, budgetary and accounts oversight.  Experience of marketing services in previous roles is essential to optimise the use of the facility and promote centre income.

Good IT skills are required with proven experience with Microsoft word and excel and the ability to use social media to promote the centre’s facilities and activities. Additional experience of computerized booking systems and accounting packages would be an advantage.

Personal attributes required included self-motivation, use of initiative and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You will work closely with town council staff and local organisations to ensure that the Centre is a vibrant, well-managed facility, that operates for the benefit of residents and organisations in the local and wider community.

The role will be a full-time position. The post holder will be expected to work over a five-day week, which will include some weekend and evening work.  Terms and conditions will be reviewed after six months.
