MINUTES OF A MEETING OF the Planning and Environment Committee held on Tuesday 2nd May 2023 at 7.45 pm at the Day Centre Commercial Road

 

PRESENT:                 Cllr C Williams, in the Chair

            There were no declarations of interest.

 

PE88   APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

The minutes of the meeting held on Monday 17th April  2023 were APPROVED.

23/00994/TPO 9 Ballard Way Paddock Wood TREES: FIELD MAPLE (T1) – Lift canopy over footpath by the removal of the lowest rear limb back to source Cllr Williams proposed, Cllr Mackie seconded:

The Town Council cannot comment as there is insufficient information given.  The requirements given in the application guidance have not been met.

 

If however the Borough Council is minded to approve this application then it is requested that the work should be carried out by a qualified tree surgeon.

23/00773/FULL British Car Auctions Eldon Way Paddock Wood Tonbridge Kent TN12 6BE Removal of existing RAC building due to fire damage, erection of replacement RAC building Cllr William proposed, Cllr Bisdee seconded: The Town Council OBJECTS to the application due to the plans to move the building close to Tudely Brook which could cause contamination into the brook.  There would also be difficulties for emergency vehicles accessing the revised location.  The runoff from the site should not discharge into the main sewer but be collected on site and removed appropriately.

PE90   MASCALLS COURT ROAD DEVELOPMENT

The Chairman expressed concern about the standard of the play equipment and the grounds maintenance on the site.

 

It was agreed that the Clerk should contact the contractor to arrange a meeting to discuss the concerns.

 

 

PE91   DATE OF NEXT MEETING  

The next meeting will take place on Monday 15TH MAY in the Day Centre, Commercial Road, Paddock Wood following the ANNUAL MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL. (subject to there being any business to transact)
