PE86    LOCAL PLAN UPDATE

Local Plan hearings are complete. We attended the final hearings when Troy raised issues relating to Paddock Wood. The Inspector was not keen to revisit areas previously discussed and supported TWBC to reword the Local Plan using the statement ‘less is more’ and suggesting removal of wording or rewording sections for them.  The next phase is the main modifications consultation, which the Borough indicated may be published before Christmas.  The Inspector recommended that the consultation should be eight weeks if this was the case.

Troy will be engaged to review the main modifications with the Town Council.

PE87   CHAIRMANS UPDATE

Once the Local Plan is approved, PWTC will be required to review the PW Neighbourhood Plan, which we will discuss with Jon Herbert from Troy Planning.

The Persimmon/Redrow applications are ready to be considered as soon as the Local Plan is approved, which will give PWTC an opportunity to comment on amendments made.  CW suggested that each Councillor on planning should review the documents relating to specific areas e.g. ecology, surface & foul water, highways. We will need to ensure that the NP has been considered in these plans.  It was agreed we would discuss at the next meeting.

A Highways Improvement Plan will be needed to be linked to any S106 find attached to highways schemes in the forthcoming Local Plan. This is now becoming urgent as S106 relating to the Persimmon/Redrow sites will be agreed in the near future.

PE88   DATE OF NEXT MEETING

The next meeting will take place at 7pm on Monday 16th December in the Day Centre, Commercial Road, Paddock Wood.
