MINUTES OF A MEETING OF the Planning and Environment Committee held on Monday 17th July 2023 at 7 pm at the Day Centre Commercial Road   

PRESENT:                            Cllr C Williams, in the Chair

Cllrs D Kent, A Mackie, D Sargison,

 

IN ATTENDANCE:               Mrs. N Reay, Clerk to the Council

PE14 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST.

            There were no Declarations of Interest.

 

PE15  APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

The minutes of the meeting held on 19th June 2023 were APPROVED.

 

PE16  ELECTION OF VICE CHAIRMAN

            Cllr Williams proposed, Cllr Mackie seconded:

That Cllr Maari be a elected Vice Chairman of the Committee

CARRIED unanimously.

 

(Cllr Williams advised that she had consulted Cllr Maari prior to the meeting, and he was agreeable to his name being put forward)

PE19  REPLACEMENT BIN

            The Town Council has received a request from a local resident for the bin at the junction of  Church Road and the public right of way leading to Old Kent Road to be replaced.  This land is not owned by the Town Council. TWBC removed the previous bin as it was encouraging fly tipping in the area.  Domestic waste was being deposited alongside the bin on a regular basis.  This included old furniture.

Members discussed whether the reasons for the removal of the previous bin and it was agreed that the Clerk should write to the resident and suggest that they contact the             Borough Councillors as it was not Town council land.

The next meeting will take place at 7.45 pm on Monday 7th August 2023 in the Day Centre, Commercial Road, Paddock Wood.
