PE73  UPDATES

  1. Badsell Road Junction – Barry Stiff (senior Project Manager for KCC) contacted PWTC with the following update on the Badsell Road junction:

I’m contacting you to advise that we have engaged a survey company to undertake a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey of Badsell Road and Maidstone Road to locate the accurate position of buried utility apparatus. This will help with our understanding of the potential impact on existing utility apparatus in developing our design.

Due to the constraints of having traffic management on the road, the work is being undertaken overnight on 23 and 24 October, between the hours of 1900 and 0500. The work is non-intrusive, carried out on foot and is not noisy but will require the existing junction signals to be switched off, and replaced with temporary 3-way signals and other associated traffic management to enable the survey contractor to undertake the works safely.

They will also be surveying the land to the west of Badsell Road at the same time, but this will be carried out on 23 October during daylight hours ahead of the traffic management going out.

  1. Local Plan – Chairman Cllr R Atkins, Estates Chairman Cllr J Thompson, Cllr A Mackie & Cllr/BC M Munday met with Carlose Hone (planning officer), Kevin Hope (planning officer), Cllr P Wilkinson & Cllr Matt Lowe from TWBC to visit Paddock Wood sports sites to discuss current facilities and future options.
