ES32 DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
ES33 MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING
To APPROVE the minutes of the previous meeting.
ES34 MATTERS ARISING FROM THE PREVIOUS MINUTES
a) A new Peugeot Partner van has been purchased for the Estates Team.
b) A pre MOT was requested for the flat bed truck. The garage explained this is not something they recommend, and that a standard MOT should be done instead. The current MOT runs out on 14th October, the truck can be booked in a month before the expiry date of the current MOT, so this has been booked for the 17th Will need to give results for members to make a decision on whether to repair or replace the truck, once the MOT is completed.
ES35 CEMETERY & CLOSED CHURCH YARD
a) Give update on removal of hedge & dates for path installation.
b) A request has been made for a refund on a plot which was reserved in 2001. A fee of £390 was paid, but the resident no longer wishes to use the plot.
Members views are sought.
ES36 FOAL HURST WOOD SIGNAGE PROJECT
Update from Cllr J Thompson
ES37 TREE WORK
Work will be carried out on the tree at Mount Pleasant shortly (waiting on a confirmed date form the contractors due to issues with TWBC TPO mapping not working).
Following complaints from residents some of the overhanging trees from the Closed Church Yard are also scheduled to be cut back from the car park in Waverley Place.
ES38 PUTLANDS POND UPDATE
The work by the pond is near completion. The contractor has also been requested to clear a metre of vegetation along the boundary hedge with The Bines as vegetation is encroaching onto neighbouring properties.
ES39 TENNIS COURT UPDATE
The tennis court posts have been removed by the contractors who have taken them away to rectify the issue and will reinstate and make the tarmac good.
ES40 BUDGET 2025/26
The following have been put forward by members for consideration:
- extra staff plus equipment to cope with forward planning on estates. Town Council are arranging for an outside organisation to complete a staff review to support this.
- New bins to include recycling
- Replacement and possible relocation of the adult exercise equipment on St Andrews Field
- Review all Notice and Notice Boards within the Town
- Review all benches and fixings
- 5 year tree maintenance plan – the council asks a tree surgeon to draw up a rolling programme of proactive maintenance work on all the council’s trees. This will allow for budgeting on the work & would hopefully avoid urgent tree works.
- Fence between The Bines & Putlands Field is in a poor state of repair.
ES41 DATE OF NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will take place on Monday 14th October 2024.
